Treyarch Allegedly Using Black Ops Gulf War Models in MW3 Zombies

Activision and its team of developers for the yearly Call of Duty releases often find themselves at the center of controversies and criticism. Now, reports suggest that Treyarch Studios is utilizing assets from a future entry in the series within the current Modern Warfare 3 Zombies mode. This news stems from a reliable dataminer, @HeyImAlaix, who shared a screenshot on Twitter revealing lines of code from MWZ’s script.

Treyarch, the studio behind the Zombies mode in Modern Warfare 3, is also the lead developer for the upcoming installment in the series, widely speculated to be titled Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War. Notably, it’s been four years since Treyarch’s last entry in the series, Black Ops Cold War, potentially indicating that the forthcoming release has been in development longer than any other COD game to date.

In the code snippet posted by Alaix on Twitter, multiple model names of various Perk-a-Colas can be seen, all beginning with “t10”. The highlighted “t10” has been interpreted as the codename for Black Ops Gulf War, leading the popular dataminer to speculate that Treyarch is using models from the upcoming game, which funnily enough, has yet to be even officially announced!
